ARCHITECTURE
In recent years, the ‘Setouchi Triennale’ has gained global attention. Works by Tadao Ando, such as the ‘Chichu Art Museum’, ‘Benesse House’, and ‘ANDO MUSEUM’ are located in Naoshima, the festival’s central venue. ‘Setouchi Retreat Aonagi’ stands alongside these as one of the representative ‘Ando Architectures’ of the Seto Inland Sea. The building, once partially open as a museum, has been renovated. It has been reborn as a small luxury hotel overlooking the Seto Inland Sea.

The building is located on a small hill overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea with its more than 500 islands of various sizes.
The pool juts out toward the sea, the sunken court (courtyard) is surrounded by sky, water, and greenery, and the guest rooms offer views of the Seto Inland Sea.
Each individual space has its own fascinating personality, but without them being completely disjointed,
